EU’s new railway legislation drives up competition and lowers prices
The European Council, Commission and Parliament have reached agreement in trialogue talks to establish an EU-wide railway system for safety and certification. It is part of the EU’s fourth railway package aimed at creating a level playing field that will encourage greater competition among railways, improving quality, safety and ticket prices.
